Olive RidleyTurtles which have managed to outlive the dinosaurs face the danger of being wiped out from the surface of our planet if we dont care now.
The beaches of Gahirmatha, Orissa, in the Indian east coast provide one of the last nesting grounds of the Olive Ridley turtles in the world. Between 130,000 to 500,000 turtles are known to return to these mass nesting grounds every year.
TATA which is one of India’s largest corporations is bent upon building a giant port at Dhamra, Just 12 kilometers away from Gahirmatha, disregarding all environmental concerns and with an Environmental assessment pending. They are relentlessly carrying on their dredging activity.
However there is hope if we join hands. Please join the Green Peace campaign and take action.
Do not hesitate to spread the word.
